Week 4_ Post Two: Jack in Motion

Jack in Motion

Here is my yorkie puppy, Jack,  running around during his morning walk to the park.  He has so much puppy energy and I was attempting to get some action shots of him.  In each of these you can see that he is actually in mid-air.  Although he is only 6 lbs, he can run extremely fast.  I love the one on the bottom, here you can see his tiny baby teeth and you can really tell how fluffy is coat is.

Week 3_Post 1

Louis

This is my first attempt at a Portrait.  Here is my boyfriend Louis, in Rock Creek Park.  We were in the shade and it was around 7pm so there was not as much light as I would have liked, but I still like how it came out with the trees out of focus in the back.  I have not yet put this into photoshop but would like to crop it and do some basic editing in the future.

Week 1_ Post 2

Jack Daniels

Jack Daniels is my 4 lb Yorkshire Terrier puppy.  Here he is when I first brought him home from the breeder.  You can see how terrified he is in his new environment (not even playing with his toy yet!).  I love taking pictures of Jack so this will probably be the first of many.

3 Photographs That Inspire Me

Tom Hussey has a collection of Photography Reflections like the one above.  Most of them have something to do with an elderly person looking at their reflection and seeing the person they once were.  I love this one of a veteran at the sink looking back fondly on his earlier years.

Cry by Oyvind Ganes Eknes

Migrant Mother by Florence Owens Thompson
This iconic image of the Great depression shows the harsh sufferings of women and children in this era.  It is amazing how much this photo speaks to the viewer despite that the children's faces cannot be seen.

Week 1_ Post 1

First Attempts At Digital Photography

Venice, Italy

Santorini, Greece

Sferracavalo, Italy

Sicily, Italy

Here are a few pictures that I took with my DSLR during my time abroad last semester.  I am still not familiar with all of it's settings, but each of these shots has something to them that I find appealing.
